Romain Laurent studied graphic design at the École Supérieure d’Art et Design in Valence. He now lives and works in Paris as a freelance graphic designer, author and publisher. His practice focuses on publishing and editorial design, using books as the subject and object of his productions. Through his work, he seeks to question the standardization, reappropriation and hijacking of printing processes.
In 2022, he co-founded PNEU, a magazine produced at ÉSAD Valence by students in the graphic design master's programme. PNEU was conceived as a place to formulate thoughts, write and share. A vehicle for bodies, affects and ideas.
After various experiences with publishers and designers involved in a strong editorial practice, Romain Laurent's work can be read as well as seen, touched as well as listened to; taking the form, in turn or simultaneously, of printed matter, publications, writings, interviews, translations, workshops and events.
